Lucy & Lewis

1) How did you meet and fall in love?

Lewis and I met working as emergency services workers in different fields, our paths crossed one day at work and we met very beifly. After that Lewis would tell his friends every time we got to bump into each other at work as if it was the best day every time, and 10 months later we had our first date. We fell in love very quickly in winter in Queenstown with a whirlwind of our shared love of the outdoors, hiking and adventure.

2) Tell us about your proposal?

Lewis has his pilots licence and one of our first dates was up in the air. We often take friends flying as we can split the costs and share the experience with others. Our good friend and photographer Melissa came along on this flight and Lewis did a fantastic job of disarming any suspicion of her presence on what was seemingly a 'routine' flight.

We flew over Mount Aspiring national park and Lake Wanaka and scoped out Brewster Hut for an overnight hike we had planned for that evening before returning back towards Wanaka. Before going into land Lewis did a few zero gravity dives for fun, on the last dive he floated the ring box toward me in zero gravity, I caught it in complete shock!

2) Tell us about your Nolan and Vada engagement ring and why you chose it?

I have always wanted a coloured stone and a solitaire style but I wasn’t sure what colour or type. Lewis chose a beautiful pear shaped deep blue sapphire to represent all of the glacial lake waters we have visited together on our adventures as well as the sea on an incredible trip we took to Greece together.
